The Cornishman 12th October 1911
The wedding was solemnised in the St Paul's Episcopal Church, Akron, Ohio, USA on Saturday 16th September, the Rev. S M Watson, pastor officiating, of William Wallis, eldest son of Mr John Wallis and the former Mary Barnes of Newlyn, St Ives Cornwall, and Miss Mabel Lucretia Hollow, Youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs George Hollow (late of Bude) formally of Penance, Cornwall.
The bride charmingly attired in a white silk Princess robe trimmed in chiffon and Ostrich plume, was given away by her father. The flower girl was Miss Ella Rash Noall from St Ives Cornwall…
…The three bridesmaids were Mrs Walter Hollow (sister-in-law of the bride) Mrs James H Williams (sister of the bride) and Mrs J K Mitchell of Newlyn, Cornwall. Mr W G Hollow, brother of the bride acted as ''best man'' and Mr Walter Hollow was also in attendance.
There was a very large congregation of well wishers to witness the ceremony, including many friends from West Cornwall: England. In the evening a reception was held in the Cornish Association Hall in Howard Street, nearly 100 relative and friends from the homeland being present.
An enjoyable musical programme was contributed to the evening and a toast to the “Happy, Pair”' Mr William Wallis (bridegroom) thanked all present for all the kindness shown to his wife and himself. The singing of well known choruses and hymns concluded a very pleasant evening.4

William George Hollow initially emigrated to Johannesburg, South Africa. Joined rest of the family at 80 Cotter Avenue, Akron, Ohio, USA in 1910, arriving New York aboard the SS.Oceanic from Southampton on 26 October at the age of 27 years and 5 months. George was described as being of fresh complexion, height 5' 5'' with dark hair and blue eyes.
Occupation - Carpenter.
William died on 1 May 1946 at Springfield Twp, Summit, OH, U.S.A., at age 62.2

Nellie arrived New York aboard S.S. Adriatic from Southampton 13 Apr 1911 when single and aged 24 years and 7 months. On arrival her occupation was given as 'Domestic' and her contact in Englnad was Mrs M. Uren, 2 Reservoir Place, Penzance. Maggie stated that it was her intention to join her cousin, Mr Fred Collins, at 441 South Maple Street, Akron. She was 5' 1.1/2'' tall, of dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
